Thank you for visiting my site. It is a work in progress but hopefully you will get a flavour of some of the things I have been up to. I am lucky to have collaborated with so many brilliant people and companies over the last 10 years and hope to continue to do so.
Telling stories is my passion and as a Theatre Maker who directs, performs, facilitates and writes, I aim to make work that credits the intelligence of the audience and invites you to take ownership in the storytelling act.
Whilst I come from a theatre background, collaborating with practitioners from other disciplines is embedded in my practice and I am really interested in the skills-sharing and surprises that can come from working in this way.
I enjoy wearing lots of hats and I see each one as an opportunity to learn and inform the work I create as a whole. These bonnets include: Teacher - Head of Drama and Teacher of English at Cramlington Learning Village up until 2008 - this has had a lasting influence over my work. Team Leader for InterAct Stroke Support service at the Cherryburn Ward at Newcastle General Hospital for the last 7 years - a constant inspiration and gift. You can find out more about the service here. Clown Doctor - working with a brilliant team of sillybillies for TinARTS at a range of local hospitals. You can find out more about this here. NT Connections Director - going to see the fantastic work that is being done by young theatre-makers up and down the country as part of the nationwide project. See more here.
Currently projects include: TalePieces - The Fables of Bewick and You, 2018 - a digital response to the Great Exhibition of the North as part of the N18 programme bringing together a cohort of artists from across the North. Find out more here.
Chicken Licken: a TaleJam - a musical storytelling experience hoping to tour in Spring 2019. Find out more here
If you would like to talk about any potential projects over a brew and some cake (I am an enthusiastic amateur baker), please do get in touch via the contact form or via email firstname.lastname@example.org
